Still Hanging Around

Just thought I would pop in and let you know that I am still around.  Things have been very hectic around the house and studio and I seem to have little spare time at the moment.

But I am quietly working away on my monthly list as well as some new designs that have been commissioned and have close deadlines.

I now have some help in the office of Fee's Shabby Shack so hopefully  I can get back to the exciting job of sourcing product, customer service and growing the business.  Your custom has been amazing and for that I thank you.

And a few new exciting ideas are also in the pot - I just need the time to action them.

Have a wonderful week.

What has been happening ?

Even though I have been quite in blog land I have been busy in the sewing room.  My darling friend Dawn and I decided to write ourselves a monthly hit list - Mine is in my side bar.  It is a list of what we aim to achieve each month - Of course we don't actually think that we will get them all crossed off but here's hoping .

I joined up for the Fat Quarter Shop's BOM - Chick Jubilee and here is Block 1 finished.  The kit is so very generous with fabric that I have enough to make another and if time permits at the end of the month I might just do that.

Another project that I have added to the list is "Berries & Bluebirds" a quilt designed by Gail Pan.  I bought a full kit for this quilt last year and have actually finished the first 4 blocks.

It is in country colours and I am just not in love with them.  I love the design so I have decided to use my recently acquired "Blushing" Fat Quarter Bundle and have made a start on Block 1.

Isn't the "Blushing" range gorgeous?  Yesterday I made 2 of these block boards which you use to lay your blocks out in piece order and then as you sew them you place them back on the board to carry to the ironing board.  It stops pieces from getting mixed up.  I followed an online tutorial on You Tube by Lori Holt to make mine.

On Saturday Jo, Sandra and I went off to the Shabby Market held in Hobart - There was lots of lovely shabby items and I fell in love with these 2 tins.  They will hold some smaller projects on my monthly list like the Rose Star.

We also welcomed a brand new member into our family  - Meet our long awaited "Ruby" who arrived on a plane from Victoria on Friday night.  Ruby is a 10 week old whippet who has made herself right at home with us and we just love her to bits.

I hope you enjoyed the catch up.
